Full-day practical master class with Jekka
Inspirational ideas on how you can design and control your herb garden
Herb gardens have been part of our heritage for thousands of years. In the beginning they were a source of medicine, and today they are an essential part of the kitchen. During this day not only will you be able to pick up tips on planting combinations, preparation of soil, practical design ideas and plant maintenance techniques but you will also be able to share your ideas and designs for your garden with the fellow participants.
The day starts with an informative, interactive lecture and discussion on Herb Garden Design based on Jekka’s award winning displays and her global travels to see and advise on herb gardens in, for example, Japan, the Caribbean and Malysia. During this lecture you will learn Jekka’s award winning techniques and those of her friends and contemporaries.
This is followed by a tour of Jekka’s Herbetum and Herb Garden where you will see her collection of over 400 different varieties and have explained how the different herbs grow. The tour will include topics of climate change and pest and disease as well as how to maintain and use herbs.
After lunch you will have a chance to discuss your own garden plans and those of your fellow participants. You will leave with ideas of how to turn your garden into an herb paradise or herb sanctuary.
Jekka’s Garden Design course is our most popular course. Spaces are limited.
