Jekka's grow at home autumn herb kit is all you need to start growing and using herbs for this autumn and winter; just add love and water. Perfect for children and adults alike.

At Jekka's we believe herbs are the most wonderfully diverse and useful plants, coming in all shapes and sizes, textures, colours, perfumes and uses. Not only do they turn a meal into a feast but a simple herb infusion can ease tension and lift the spirits.

We wish everyone to enjoy herbs and have developed this kit as a good starting point. It contains Jekka's special hand-mixed seedling compost as well as 5 packets of our seeds.

Jekka's grow at home herb kit contains the following 5 individual packets of culinary herb seeds:

  • Coriander (Coriandrum sativum): one of the most used herbs. Both the leaves and ripe seeds are edible and they have two distinct flavours; the seeds are warmly aromatic and the leaves have an earthy pungency.
  • Jekka's Salad Herb Mix: one of Jekka's salad mixes to make a tasty "cut and come again" crop.
  • Parsley (Petroselinum): is a hardy biennial that can be grown in a container. Jekka advocates using Parsley for flavour not just as a garnish. It is a good source of Vitamins A & C and also aids digestion.
  • Salad Burnet (Sanguisorba minor): one of our few soft leaved hardy evergreen perennials making it a wonderful additional to any herb bed.
  • Winter Purslane (Claytonia perfoliata): also known as miner's lettuce, the whole plant is edible it tastes quite like spinach and is full of vitamin C.

    Happy Herbs!

Along with Jekka’s Grow at Home Seed Kits, for the Spring, Summer and Autumn we have made Jekka’s Herb Calendar for 2022, which is a celebration of herbs throughout the year.

Buy Jekka's Spring, Summer and Autumn Grow at Home Seed Kits and receive Jekka's Herb Calendar for free.

Jekka’s Herb Calendar is full of beautiful pictures taken by Jekka of Jekka’s Herb Farm, Jekka’s Herbetum or culinary & medicinal herbs at that time of year.

In each month, we highlight a herb, provide Jekka’s top tips and give you some handy advice on what to do to ensure your herbs always look their best and bring both colour to your garden and flavour to your kitchen. Throughout Jekka’s Herb Calendar, you can also simply scan the QR codes to be taken to the relevant page on our website for more information.

One of our three core roots is that we are Environmentally Conscious and for the past 30 years all the herbs grown at Jekka’s have been raised following sustainable, environmentally friendly and organic approaches resulting in a remarkable biodiversity at the herb farm.

Our herb seeds are also untreated and can be used to grow organic herb plants. Our seeds are hand packed into gassine bags, which are fully recyclable, compostable and biodegradable. These bags are then put into beautifully illustrated paper seed packets. Therefore, our environmental footprint is small.

Want to know more? You can read more about our sustainability approach to growing herbs in one of Jekka's Blogs. See also:
