Welcome
Jekka McVicar, VMH
We were delighted to host one of the inaugural HORTISTRY pilot workshops, welcoming professionals for a day dedicated to propagation and practical skill-sharing.
During the day attendees rotated through small, hands-on propagation sessions designed to give them direct experience of essential techniques. See below for the schedule for what was an enjoyable day!
“Incredibly inspiring yet deeply practical — I left with ideas I could use immediately.”
Demonstrators & Lecturers
Jon Wheatley MBE, VMH
From Stonebarn Landscapes, who led a seed sowing master class in the school.
Nick Dunn VMH
Managing Director of Frank P Matthews, who demonstrated fruit tree crafting in the multispan.
Chris Trimmer
From the National Trust, Plant conservation centre who offered insight into the role of propagation in conservation and biodiversity.
“The depth of plant knowledge was exceptional, but delivered in such an engaging and accessible way.”
