Happy New Year from all of us at Jekka’s!
Happy New Year from all of us at Jekka’s. As we welcome 2026, we’d like to thank you for continuing to support our work championing culinary, medicinal, and historical herbs. Whether you’ve visited us in person, grown herbs from our plants, joined one of our master classes, or followed along online, your enthusiasm for herbs helps keeps the knowledge of growing and using herbs alive.
Throughout the year, our newsletters and blog posts have shared practical growing advice, seasonal inspiration, and deeper insights into the cultural and historical importance of herbs. From sustainable growing practices to celebrating the role herbs play in wellbeing, food, and history, our aim has always been to inform, inspire, and connect our community of herb lovers.

One of the most exciting highlights of 2024 and 2025 was advising on and supplying herbs for the upcoming film Hamnet. Many of our culinary and medicinal plants were used to create an authentic portrayal of daily life in Shakespearean England, reflecting the deep historical relationship between people and herbs. Plants such as Rosemary, Chamomile, Rue, and Lavender were integral to the traditions, remedies, and symbolism of the period.
The film’s exploration of herbal knowledge from traditional healing practices to references to ancient charms such as the Old English Nine Herbs Charm. This closely mirrors our own commitment to preserving and sharing herbal heritage. We are delighted to see Jekka’s herbs appear on the big screen when Hamnet is released by Universal Pictures in the UK on 9 January 2026.
