Open Days
Entrance is by bookable tickets.
Open Days are typically on the first Friday and Saturday of the month.

Details
Our popular open days will run on the alternate months to Jekka's Herb Days.
Unlike previous years, we will run these as morning (9:00 am - 12:00 pm) and afternoon (1 :00 pm - 4:00 pm) slots. Tickets are available here - tickets. For our Charity Open Days the ticket value goes to the charity. The NGS chosen charities can be seen here.
Our shop will be open selling herb seeds and herbal infusions and our cafe will be open selling coffee, teas and homemade cake.

Jekka's Herbetum & Garden Tours & Talks
During our open days, there will be a number of our team, as well as Jekka, around to answer any questions and provide guidance on herbs.
The morning and afternoon sessions will have a tour and talk given by Jekka, a member of our team or a Friend of Jekka's. For more details please see the open day ticket pages.
Our first Open Day dates of the year are Friday 27th March & Saturday 28th March 2026, where Jekka will be sharing her award-winning knowledge of growing and looking after herbs and Hannah will be conducting Herbetum tours.

At the heart of our Open Days is Jekka McVicar VMH, award-winning herb grower, author and consultant. Known as the “Queen of Herbs”, Jekka has spent over five decades championing the culinary, medicinal and ecological importance of herbs, inspiring growers and chefs worldwide.
Jekka will be giving morning and afternoon talks on herbs.

Mike the Gardener
Mike Palmer is a professional gardener and garden designer with over 25 years’ experience in the horticultural industry. He is the producer, editor and presenter of the popular Mic The Gardener - Gardening Podcast and was the chair of the Garden Media Guild. He has a very popular Instagram account, @mike_thegardener, where he gives regular virtual tours of his beautiful Bournemouth garden and interviews gardening personalities, plantsmen and women, authors, designers and many others.

Bee McGovern
Bee is a medical herbalist and educator with almost 20 years’ experience sharing practical, accessible plant knowledge through workshops, community education, and clinical practice. Her teaching is rooted in the belief that herbal medicine is most powerful when it is embodied, sensory, and woven into everyday life. Alongside her teaching and clinical work, Bee runs Bee’s Teas, a small loose-leaf herbal tea business creating blends to support different moods and moments. With degrees in Herbal Medicine and Botany and Zoology, Bee brings together scientific grounding and lived experience, and believes working with plants is a deeply practical way to support wellbeing for both people and planet.

Hannah McVicar
Hannah McVicar grew up immersed in the life of the herb farm, surrounded by a world of plants and their stories. She is an accomplished botanical illustrator, drawing much of her inspiration from herbs. Her work includes original screen prints and murals, celebrating the beauty and intricacies of nature.
On the herb farm, Hannah is renowned for her engaging tours of the Herbetum, where she shares her deep knowledge and lifelong passion for herbs, offering visitors a unique and enriching experience.

Jekka's is located north of Bristol in the South Gloucestershire countryside, north of the M4/M5 interchange off the A38, near to the old Severn Bridge.

Please note
This is a working farm and although we take ever precaution to make it accessible not all paths are level and unfortunately, we cannot control the weather. Please wear appropriate foot ware.
We are also not permitted to allow food on the farm outside of the cafe. Please refrain from picnics in the car park.
No pets are allowed in the herb farm, however there are lots of beautiful walks for dogs nearby.
