Jekka's HerbFest 2023

Jekka’s HerbFest is back after a successful inaugural launch in 2021 that was greeted with much acclaim (see pictures from 2021 here).

"Brilliant from start to finish, nothing disappointed and absolute heaven not being overcrowded, space with minimal queuing, easy access to interesting speakers, superbly helpful and knowledgeable staff and overall a relaxed and happy atmosphere - a special, life affirming day!" - J. Sale, Herefordshire

Jekka’s HerbFest is a celebration of the growing and use of herbs. It is a three-day event running from Friday 30th June to Sunday 2nd July 2023, hosted at Jekka’s Herb Farm in South Gloucestershire, North of Bristol.

Filled with expert talks, workshops and demonstrations from not only Jekka McVicar VMH and her team, but also Friends of Jekka’s; including two Michelin star chef, Nathan Outlaw, No Dig Expert and award-winning author Charles Dowding, garden designer and television presenter Arit Anderson as well as many more. Check out the line-up for Jekka’s HerbFest 2023 online at www.jekkasherbfest.com.

Jekka's Herb Garden

Visitors to Jekka’s HerbFest will learn about cooking with herbs, the delights of eating herbs, how to grow and look after their herbs, the role of herbs in health & wellbeing, garden design tips as well as about the bees and insects that use herbs.

During Jekka’s HerbFest visitors will be able to explore Jekka's Herbetum, a living encyclopedia of over 400 culinary herbs, and New for 2023: Jekka's Herb Garden, designed with different herb gardens or petals, from culinary and medicinal herbs to herbs for pollinators.

Both Jekka’s Herbetum and Jekka’s Herb Garden have been created to inspire the amateur and professional gardener and to ensure that the history, culinary and medicinal usage of herbs are not lost for future generations.

Artisan Stalls & Sponsors

Jekka’s HerbFest will involve local artisan businesses who will have stalls to demonstrate and sell their produce, plus local musicians and artists.

During these days, the Folk House Café will be providing locally sourced vegan and vegetarian food and Jekka’s herb-inspired cafe will be open offering homemade cakes and coffee as well as their herbal infusions.

We are delighted to be supported by Steel Landscaping Co., who have done the beautiful metal edging in Jekka's Herb Garden, Riverstone, a provider of exceptional London living for the over 65s, with whom Jekka partners with to make beautiful culinary herb gardens in the heart of London and the NFU Mutual Thornbury with whom we have worked with for a long time. We are also very pleased to be supporting St Mungo's Bristol Putting Down Roots Team and have given visitors the opportunity to support them as well by purchasing a "Giving Back" ticket with their HerbFest Ticket.

Gardens Illustrated are giving each visitor a free digital copy of "Container Gardening" with their ticket purchase.
