Jekka's HerbFest 2023

It is only 10 weeks until Jekka's HerbFest 2023 and we are really looking forward to our full line-up of inspiring talks from leading garden designers, demonstrations from top chefs and garden tours from a variety of specialists.

We thought we would take this opportunity to introduce you to our wonderful speakers as we are so grateful for their support in making Jekka's HerbFest a success.

Friday 30th June

Our Friday line-up includes; Bee McGovern, a medical herbalist and botanist, Mike Palmer a professional gardener and presenter of the very popular 'Mic The Gardener' Podcast (you can listen to Jekka's episode here) and Romy Gill a British/Indian chef, author and broadcaster; her latest book 'On the Himalayan Trail: Recipes and Stories from Kashmir to Ladakh' is beautiful.

   

Plus, Matthew Biggs, a gardener writer and broadcaster from BBC Radio 4’s ‘Gardeners Question Time,’ Matthew and Jekka both contributed to The Complete Book of Vegetables, Herbs and Fruit published in 2016. Josh Eggleton chef and co-owner of The Pony Chew Valley, a produce-led restaurant, cookery school and kitchen garden. Sarah Eberle one of the UK’s foremost landscape and garden designers, last year we grew herbs for her RHS Chelsea Flower show garden and her feature garden at the RHS Hampton Court Flower show.

Plus, Charles Dowding, a leader in 'no dig' gardening who has just published a new book with DK called 'No Dig', Nathan Outlaw, a 2 Michelin star chef with two restaurants in Cornwall and has recently opened a new guest house opposite his restaurant, and Richard Rickitt the co-editor of BeeCraft, UK's best-selling beekeeping magazine.

 

  

 


Sunday 2nd July 2023

Our Sunday line-up includes Jekka who will be sharing how she created her new herb garden, Nick Wray the curator at the University of Bristol Botanic Garden, and Kate Durr who will be hosting our Gardners Corner, alongside interviewing our speakers, Kate will also be running Gardeners Question Time each afternoon.

 


Plus, Nathan Outlaw will be back sharing more recipes, we have Simon Mills, the UK's leading herbal practitioner, who in 2016 was appointed as Herbal Strategist at Pukka Herbs, leading new initiatives, clinical research, and most recently reducing antibiotic demand. And Rob Howell, author and Chef at the restaurant 'Root' in Bristol will be doing cookery demonstrations in Jekka's Marquee.

There will be talks & cookery demonstrations in the Jekka's Marquee and conversations & interviews with Kate Durr in the Gardeners corner. Alongside specialist garden tours, artisan stalls, music & food.
