Fennel tincture

Fennel tincture

This Fennel Tincture is great after a heavy meal as the ingredients purportedly improve digestion and reduce flatulence. This tincture was recently discussed on Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh.

To make the Fennel Tincture

  • 1/2 cup fennel seeds
  • 1 cup vodka 40%
  • 1 sterilised jar

  • Grind the fennel seeds in a pestle and mortar.
  • Pour into the jar using a wide necked funnel.
  • Pour over the vodka and close the lid.
  • Put into a dark cupboard.
  • Leave to infuse for one month turning every 2-3 days.
  • After a month, strain through a funnel lined with muslin, or a coffee filter, into a sterilised dark dropper bottle, seal and label with name and date. This will keep for up to 3-5 years.

How to take:

  • Add 15 drops into a small cup of warm water.
