We have two types of honey available to buy at Jekka's: Jekka's Herb Farm honey and South Gloucestershire honey.
Jekka's Herb Farm honey comes from the hives we have at Jekka's. We love our bees as they contribute to the biodiversity and natural ecosystem at the herb farm.
Jekka's honey bees feed on the herbs in Jekka's Herbetum and Jekka's Herb Garden from the early flowering Rosemarys in spring to the later flowering Creeping Savory in Autumn. This results in an unique herb flavour that changes from season to season.
Visitors to the herb farm can view our herbs, such as the Lavenders and Thymes, covered with busy working honey bees.
We also sell South Gloucestershire honey that is from a variety of hives in the region. Both are raw artisan honey.
We use our honey to sweeten our Herbal Infusions and find it is always good on toast!
We sell both honey from our hives at Jekka's Herb Farm and honey from the hives of our bee keeper, Alan, who has hives all over South Gloucestershire.
Alan is part of the South Gloucestershire Beekeepers Association (SGBKA), which is the local branch of the British Beekeepers Association, a charity whose aims are “to further and promote the craft of beekeeping and advance the education of the public in the importance of bees in the environment”. The SGBKA will be having a stall at Jekka's HerbFest, come along to find out more!
Both types of honey are sold in 227g (8 oz or 1/2 lb) net jars and are raw artisan honey.
Larger jars (16 oz) are available from the farm during our herb experiences or open days.
Following our root of being ‘green, environmentally friendly and sustainable', we use eco-kraft boxes that are FSC approved and do not use any plastic in the posting of our products.
All our orders are dispatched with a standard delivery note, which includes addresses and items ordered but no prices. We will also include any gift note you have written at check-out.
